Music

At Jump Primary School, we believe that an effective education in Music has the power to inspire and engage pupils providing them with a creative outlet in which to express their emotions, skills and talents. We encourage children to participate through listening, responding and performing both vocally and through playing a variety of instruments.

We follow the Charanga scheme of work.

Barnsley Music Service provide sessions for KS1 children to develop their aural memory. Opportunities are planned for children to learn how to play the guitar in Year 4 and the ukulele in Year 3. Each year our Key Stage 2 children are invited to participate in the Young Voice’s Concert. It is our aim that children are able to further enrich their Music education through participation in these sessions and events.
