Safeguarding

At Jump Primary School, we are committed to the safety and happiness of all pupils.

If you are concerned about a child, please ask to speak to a member of our Designated Safeguarding Team:

Mrs G Clark - Designated Safeguarding Lead and Head Teacher

Ms D Cooper - Designated Deputy Safeguarding Lead and Parent Support Advisor

Miss G Cooper - Designated Deputy Safeguarding Lead and SENDCo

Our safeguarding leads regularly promote the key messages of staying safe and communicating issues in a confidential manner through school and class assemblies as well as offering one to one support where appropriate .
The themes around safeguarding are also underpinned by a comprehensive PSHE and mental health curriculum within every class which teaches pupils about healthy respectful relationships, resilience, problem solving , self care, identity and kindness as well as being part of a wider responsible community.
Safeguarding is also underpinned by our behaviour policy which actively promotes and celebrates positive behaviour and links our rules and responsibilities to the rights of every child and adult within our school community:

  • The right to be safe
  • The right to be treated with respect
  • The right to learn

We are proud to be working alongside the NSPCC to deliver their Speak Out Stay Safe programme.

Our assemblies, which feature Ant and Dec, support children to feel empowered - knowing how they can speak out and stay safe and include access to supporting classroom resources.

They are an effective way to support your school’s safeguarding duties and link directly to the curriculum as well as help reinforce key messages about abuse and neglect as part of our school’s teaching on relationships.

With the help of our safeguarding leads and teachers, children will know they have the right to:

  • speak out and be heard
  • be safe
  • get help when they need it.
